We found our lead, Candy!! (and so did Hollywood!)

In case you missed our announcement on Facebook, we are proud to announce our lead, Stef Dawson, will be playing Candy--and now, also joining the Hunger Games!! For this reason, we could be shooting Creedmoria as early as next month!! We plan to shoot over five weeks, in Queens and Brooklyn. There's still time to make a donation to IFP and help us on our way! All contributions are tax-deductible and appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. : )

Back to the Drawing Board

INT. SEDAN, MOVING -- NIGHT
Danny sits in the back leaning forward between Candy and Sean as they drive home.

Starting over can bring with it many pleasant surprises and blessings. After weighing in all of the great feedback we received from our Kickstarter campaign, Derek and I decided it's time to launch a new video! We heard all of you who said you wanted more of the story. So, Derek story-boarded out some key scenes and tomorrow, I will direct six incredibly, talented actors who will lend their voices to the boards. What we hope to end up with is a new, vibrant video that will introduce the world of Creedmoria to those people we have yet to meet and to share part of the pre-production process with all of our fans and supporters. The new video will allow us to pick up our fundraising efforts again and hopefully secure the money we need to be shooting this July. Stay tuned for the video launch--Coming Soon!

One door closes...

And another one opens!

Welcome to 2013 and the feeling of possibility! We are getting busy over here moving forward with our Plan B. It's true our Kickstarter campaign was unsuccessfully funded but we can't help but feel anything but successful. We found 176 backers--many we know, some we didn't until now. The support has been amazing and we have much to do.

Stay tuned for updates, videos and more. And please subscribe if you haven't done so already.

Wishing you all success and happiness in the new year!! Lee

Wall Street Journal, Baby

Happy New Year!!

My 7-Step Guide to Kickstarter was just posted by the Wall Street Journal!!  We are at a critical point in our campaign and if we don't reach the full 60K in 5 days, we get to keep none of the almost $23,000 raised.Today's Journal blog has already brought in another grand...woooooohooooo.

This has been some adventure. Whether we make it or not, I am feeling all kinds of grateful.

Nicest Producer in the World

David Meister, Alicia Slimmer, Alan Siegel
Last night I had the honor to do an on-camera interview with the charming and fun, Alan Siegel, producer of the newly released, heartwarming comedy, Playing For Keeps, at our alma mater. The interview will be part of a series I'm documenting on Filmmakers who Hailed From Queens (the borough, that is).
